Pinter and artist of mixed media and scenery, Manuel Merida is one of the pioneers of experimenting new techniques in Venezuela, with his works that stands out due to his involving in movement to genrate a soft movement and poetic transformaciones, that créate every turn into a new work of art.

He studied in “Escuela Arturo Michelana” in Valencia Venezuela (1952 - 1959)and in 1968 he moves to Paris for 5 years. He returns to Venezuela and presents his first manipulable artworks, with a very special kinetic touch. These were sand boxes that spinned, allowing an infinite  combination of surcase that move constantly. In 1976 he does and exhibit in the Museo de Bellas Artes of Caracas, and in 1983 he moves to Paris and takes residence there.
