For Zona Maco 2025, Galería RGR is pleased to present a selection of works by both established and emerging national and international artists whose languages, on the one hand, explore abstractionism from a historical perspective, and on the other, challenge it through the irruption of its hegemonic narratives, by placing the body and the landscape, the feminine, feminist and dissident practices at the center.
For this edition, we bring together a diversity of media including photography, sculpture, collage, installation, and painting from our artists with a consolidated international career, such as: Carlos Cruz-Diez (Venezuela, 1923 - France, 2019), Jesús Rafael Soto (Venezuela, 1923 - France, 2005), Julio Le Parc (Mendoza, Argentina, 1928), Magali Lara (Mexico, 1956), and Ding Yi (China, 1962). Additionally, we present works by mid-career artists such as: Jeppe Hein (Copenhagen, Denmark, 1974), Francisco Muñoz (Mexico, 1986), Mercedes Azpilicueta (La Plata, Argentina, 1981), and Patrick Hamilton (Leuven, Belgium, 1974).
