The Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO) in collaboration with the Oswaldo Vigas Foundation, presents the solo exhibition by the plastic artist entitled Oswaldo Vigas: Antológica 1943-2013, curated by Bélgica Rodríguez. The show contains a selection of 70 paintings and 6 sculptures produced during those decades.
Through this retrospective exhibition, the work of Vigas, who is one of the prominent Latin American art figures, suggests a deep connection with the cultural roots of Venezuelan pre-hispanic art and modernism. Likewise, plans a brief tour of the different disciplines he ventured throughout his artistic production such as painting, sculpture and literature.
The exhibition will have an itinerant tour in different Latin American museums that goes from the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO) to the National Museum of Fine Arts of Chile (MNBA).
The exhibition will be open from July 16 to August 23, 2015.
