Galería RGR is pleased to present "Space and Transparency", an exhibition project about Gertrud Goldschmidt -better known as Gego-, one of the most important artists of the 20th century in Latin America in the field of kinetic art.
The project comprises six pieces that show one of the key principles of Gego's practice: the decomposition of volumes to their minimum expression, which is possible thanks to her constant experimentation with line.
"Space and Transparency" presents drawings and prints in which discontinuous lines are superimposed to create a unique effect: the movement that generates the non-visible. In her artistic practice Gego conceptually resized the function of the line as a means of expression, as it was the instrument with which she stopped adapting to space in order to create it.
