Museo Jumex, presents the group exhibition Normal Exceptions: Contemporary Art in Mexico, curated by Kit Hammonds. The show contains 60 artworks that explores the production of the last 20 years by mexican artists and, in turn, questions the concept of traditional history. This exhibition proposes a multidisciplinary dialogue between emerging and renowned artists who have worked to visualize the periphery with critical positions towards the centralized discourse of art history.
In this regard, Diego Pérez participates in the exhibition with the piece La biblioteca de Nezahualcóyotl (2004-2006), concentrates a series of books collected during two years in the street markets of the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl, State of Mexico, which under the considerations of the artist are relevant for the creation of the discourse of universal and Mexican historiography.
The exhibition will be available until August 15, 2021.
