Paul Muguet was selected to participate in the XVIII edition of the Bienal de Pintura Rufino Tamayo.
His work "Petate No. 1", 2018 (enamel on canvas, 177.5 x 152 cm) will be visible until January 5, 2020, at the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City, Mexico.
The artistic work of Paul Muguet uses elements of our graphic and objectual cotidianity to show us the permanence of the signifiers that we grant to things and their visual patterns. His works refer to the meaning contained in the image, to our reading of them that, despite being decontextualized, immediately refer us to what we know and the use we usually give them.
In practical terms, the paintings in which Muguet is currently working depend on an extremely meticulous masking process, in which each color implies patient hours of delimitation and a clear notion of the spaces.
