Hilma's Ghost es un colectivo artístico feminista cofundado por las artistas y educadoras Sharmistha Ray y Dannielle Tegeder en el punto álgido de la pandemia, en 2020. La esencia de su colaboración artística radica en el reconocimiento del misticismo como fuente de sabiduría colectiva que ha fomentado la resiliencia personal y despertado el ingenio estético de mujeres artistas de todas las épocas.
A través de exposiciones, talleres y publicaciones, el colectivo forja conexiones entre artistas y sanadores, innovando prácticas novedosas y liberadoras adaptadas a mujeres, artistas no binarios y trans de la era contemporánea. En los últimos dos años, Hilma's Ghost ha cultivado iniciativas que defienden métodos de enseñanza experimentales, el diálogo transcultural y el andamiaje de comunidades, todo ello a través del prisma del feminismo, la abstracción geométrica y la espiritualidad.
Entre sus exposiciones individuales y colectivas y proyectos más recientes figuran Radical Spirits: Tarot Automatism, and Feminist Histories en el Hill-Stead Museum, Connecticut, EE.UU. (2022); Enchantments: Bottled Devotionals of Divine Feminine Spirits en el Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Connecticut, EE.UU. (2024); Queer histories en el Museu de Arte de São Paulo, Brasil (2024); Chromatic Altar en el Guggenheim Museum, Nueva York, EE.UU. (2024); y La hora de la estrella, próxima exposición individual en la Galería RGR, Ciudad de México, México.
Ray y Tegeder trabajan juntos en Brooklyn, Nueva York.
