Biography

Natalia Mejía Murillo - Artists - GALERÍA RGR

(Bogotá, Colombia) Natalia Mejía Murillo holds a BFA and an MA in History and Theory of Art, Architecture, and the City from the National University of Colombia, as well as an MFA in Visual Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA.

Her awards and distinctions include Artist Researcher at the Folger Shakespeare Library (Washington, D.C., 2025), First Prize in the 98th Annual International Competition at The Print Center (Philadelphia, 2024), the Acquisition Award from Kunstmuseum Reutlingen (Germany, 2020), and the Colombia–Mexico (FONCA) grant from the Colombian Ministry of Culture (2017). She has been selected for artist residencies at Pioneer Works (New York, USA, 2026); SACO (Antofagasta, Chile, 2026); Porvenir (Mexico City, Mexico, 2026); John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Sheboygan, USA, 2025); Fire Station (Doha, Qatar, 2024–2025); Radio 28 (Mexico City, Mexico, 2024); MASS MoCA (North Adams, USA, 2023); the Curatorial Program for Research (New York, USA, 2023); and Casa de Velázquez (Madrid, Spain, 2021), among others.

Recent exhibitions include Salón Acme (Mexico City, Mexico, 2026); Doce Cero Cero Galería (solo exhibition, Bogotá, Colombia, 2026); Atlanta Contemporary Art Center (solo exhibition, Atlanta, USA, 2025); Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil (Mexico City, Mexico, 2025); the International Art Biennial of Antioquia and Medellín (Medellín, Colombia, 2025); D.D.D.D. Gallery (solo exhibition, New York, USA, 2024); Revolver Galería (New York, USA, 2024); Smack Mellon (New York, USA, 2024); Casa Zirio (Bogotá, Colombia, 2024); The Print Center (solo exhibition, Philadelphia, USA, 2024); and A+D Architecture and Design Museum (Los Angeles, USA, 2024), among others. She has taught at the National University of Colombia and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, both in Bogotá, as well as at Virginia Commonwealth University in Doha, Qatar.
